NESTED POLYHEDRA

Problem / Create a minimum of two nestings with three different platonic polyhedra. Craft, aesthetics, and style are important considerations. 

Materials / Paper, Glue, Gaffer tape (for strong hinges), magnets.

Solution / I was really intrigued with nesting a tetrahedron inside a cube inside a dodecahedron. These three polyhedra in that order touch an edge across a face. The finished product features small stellated faces on each polyhedron. These small stellations have an appealing aesthetic related to gems or geodes. Magnets are used to hold the figure together. There are small colored circles on the brown exterior of the stellated dodecahedron and the stellated cube to indicate where the object can be opened
